Attempting 2022

Carstensz Pyramid, also known as Puncak Jaya, is the highest summit of Mount Carstensz in Papa Province, Indonesia. It is the highest mountain in Indonesia, the 5th highest mountain in political Southeast Asia, and it is the highest island peak in the world. The peak itself is ice-free but she has several glaciers on her slopes with temperatures averaging at 0.5°C. Carstensz Pyramid is regarded as having the highest technical rating with very limited accessibility for climbers. The team will acclimatise on a separate training trip the week before in Chamonix to minimise time at altitude on Carstensz
