Summit stories: Kelda Wood I did it!!!!! What more can I say? That was one of the biggest challenges I have ever taken on, on sooooo many different levels!

And the learning for me, if you’re sitting at home wondering if you can do something, but thinking you probably can’t, then give it a go anyway!

I expected my leg to be so bad. I expected to be in so much pain. I’m not going to lie, it was a massive challenge and I had my moments, but it was so much better than I ever expected!

Gonzallos, one of the Argentinian guides, was with me every step of the way. He had me roped up and was constantly supporting and encouraging me. I owe much of my successful summit to him.

I’m proud. Proud to have been part of this team, but most of all, I’m proud of myself.

So many people said I wouldn’t do it. It would have been so easy to stay at home and make excuses. But one of the things I said to myself before I left was “be stronger than the excuses”

And I was! ☺
